Why Choose LIIDP

LIIDP is a large, well-established early intervention and preschool program on Long Island, servicing children and families since 1984. With over 25 years of experience, we believe that we have found the perfect balance of intervention services and parental involvement, and it is through this combination that we are able to work with each child and family according to their specific needs and abilities.

LIIDP believes in putting the family’s needs first.

Our teachers and therapists work with the entire family, not just the child. Every effort is made to include all family members in a child’s therapies, and our staff strives to develop special relationships with each family. It is these relationships that are pivotal to the success of family centered service. Our staff makes every effort to accommodate each family’s busy schedule. Staff members provide services with dedication and care for each child’s individual needs and the needs of their family. If family members have specific concerns, social workers and psychologists are always available. LIIDP also has many support services, including support groups and developmental groups, available on an ongoing basis.

At LIIDP, we know that families that include children with special needs are families with special needs.

We operate with a large staff of teachers, therapists and other specialists. All of our staff members are experienced, New York State licensed professionals. LIIDP periodically holds various inservices, which are open to all staff members. Topics have included universal precautions, child abuse recognition, and changes in early intervention and preschool laws. In addition, LIIDP conducts mandated trainings from the Nassau County Department of Health and Suffolk County Department of Health Bureau of Services for Children with Special Needs, as required.
